<p>A thermoplastic air bag cover (10) having a unitary multifunctional domed switching module (22) is provided wherein the domes (30) are integrally formed with a front plate of the switching module to seal and protect switches (24) of the switching module (22) .The domes (30) extend through a window (20) formed in a front panel (12) of the cover (10) and the domes (30) include indicia formed on outer surfaces thereof to indicate a particular automotive vehicle accessory and its function to be controlled thereby. In one embodiment, a membrane-type horn switch (42''') is coupled to the unitary switching module (22) at a rear inner surface of the front panel (12). Both the unitary switching module (22) and the membrane-type horn switch (42''') are secured at an inner surface of the front panel (12) of the air bag cover (10) by first and second coupled back plates (44''', 46''').</p> |
