Aq. 2-component coating materials (I) contg. (a) base- neutralisable OH gp.-contg. binder(s) (II) based on polydiene resins with an acid no. of 30-90 and an OH no. of 5-190 and opt. (b) conventional paint additives etc. Binders (II) are obtd. by (1) reaction in aq. medium of (A) 40-80 wt% polydiene oil(s) with an average mol. wt. (Mn) of 300-5000 with (B) 5-25 wt% alpha , beta -unsatd. mono- and/or di-carboxylic acid(s) or anhydrides, half-esters or half-amides thereof, followed by reaction with (C) 0-10 wt% bis-(2-oxaline) cpd(s)., whereby a reaction prod. from (A) and (B) contg. anhydride gps. may be esterified or amidated before and/or after reaction with (C) by reaction with 0-10 wt% alcohol and/or amine (w.r.t. total amt. of components A-F), and opt. (D) 0-10 wt% ester(s) of alpha , beta -unsatd. acids with 1-12C linear, branched or cyclic alcohols or amides of such acids, followed by (2) transferring the prod. obtd., after partial or complete neutralisation with base, into an aq. medium and reacting in presence of a polymerisation initiator and opt. a mol. wt. regulator with (E) 1-40 wt% OH-functional unsatd. monomer(s) and (F) 0-25 wt% unsatd. monomer(s) with no other functional gps. The reaction prod. is used in combination with polyisocyanate crosslinker(s).
