CLEANING AND WASHING METHOD AND DEVICE

A washing and cleaning method includes simultaneously applying infrasonic and ultrasonic vibrations to the liquid containing the items to be washed or cleaned. The frequencies are advantageously selected in the range of 10 to 90 Hz and 15 to 25 kHz respectively. The infrasonic and ultrasonic vibrations are preferably transmitted by means of a flexible diaphragm contacting the liquid containing the items to be washed. The washing and cleaning device has a housing (10) containing sound wave transmitting means (11, 12) with a transmitting diaphragm (13, 14), such as loud-speakers. The diaphragm is impervious and contacts the liquid when the device is immersed therein. The frequencies are advantageously selected in the above-mentioned ranges.
