Surface electron irradiation device for electron hardening of stiff or flexible materials in printing

The device irradiates surfaces with electrons which are emitted from at least one wire cathode (22,23) in a vacuum chamber (11) with an electron metal foil exit window (16). An electron transparent film covers the vacuum chamber in the region of the exit window from the surrounding the medium. The film is connected to the exit window via a press frame. The device also has a window frame (19) and a support grating (18) for the film which has at least one main bridge (40) through which a coolant flows. The main bridge is arranged parallel to the wire cathodes and is preferably arranged in the middle of the window frame between the two cathodes. The support grating and the window frame preferably form a single unit.
