The front region of a ski boot sole is supported vertically on a sliding plate (8) which is guided by at least one guide bar (21) at right angles to the length of the ski. The front end of the guide rod (21) pivots about a fixed vertical axis (20). Looking down vertically on the boot securing unit (2), the guide bar(s) (21) is/are configured in such a way as to lie essentially inside the boundary of a sole securing device (34) and sliding plate (8).
