Substrate material for a bio:reactor for treating effluent water

Substrate material comprises: (i) a felt of polyamide or polyester fibres with a titre of 8-300 dtex consolidated with an elastic polymeric binder, and (1) the prepared felt has: (a) a wt. of 100-2000 g/m<2>; (b) a vol. of 65-99 vol. % air; and (c) a ratio fibres to binder of 90:10 - 20:80. Also claimed is a bioreactor for treating effluent water.
