COLOR POLARIZERS

This invention provides a complementary color polarizer using a single polarizing film (10) followed by a stack of two or more retarders (20 and 21). In a preferred embodiment, the color polarizers produce orthogonally polarized complementary primary colors. This invention further provides color filters (30 and 31) which utilize the color polarizers of this invention in combination with a polarization separator to separate orthogonally polarized colors.
