<p>The present invention provides methods for preparing nucleic acids encoding polyphenol oxidase (PPO), fragments and derivatives thereof. The present invention also provides nucleic acids encoding banana or lettuce PPO, or antisense to banana or lettuce PPO, fragments and derivatives thereof. Vectors including such nucleic acids, methods of using such nucleic acids and transgenic plants are also provided.</p> |
