Brake pedal switch for electrically-operated car brake

The brake pedal unit is for a vehicle with a brake-by-wire system. A brake pedal which generates the desired value is connected to two sensors. The sensors generate redundant analogue signals. A third switch outputs the necessary information for a majority decision. The brake pedal unit also includes a brake light switch. The third switch is not implemented as an additional element to the brake light switch, but is identical to the brake light switch and implements the functions of both switches.
