FIELD: presentation of graphic and other information. SUBSTANCE: present invention is related to diffraction displays designed for presentation of graphical and other information. In general new display uses diffraction pattern produced (deposited in the form of pattern, for instance) on film or other element connected to source of energy which provides for movement of film. Movement of film with diffraction pattern forms image with the use of light diffracted by this pattern. There are known electrically active films, for example, piezoelectric, electrostriction, electromotive, electrostatic and magnetoactive films. Diffraction pattern may be applied on each of mentioned films and diffracted light may be generated by movement of film. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of diffraction displays.
