PURPOSE:To obtain an electrode consisting of carbon with a remarkably high electric capacity and with a good charge and discharge property, by selecting a carbon material with a structure consists of a little disarrayed layers than the carbon of the graphite structure, and with a selective orientation property, as the main component. CONSTITUTION:In a container (bubble container) 1 keeping benzene after the refining process of the vacuum distillation, argon gas is fed from an argon gas control system 2 to bubble the benzene. Then the benzene is fed to a reaction tube 4 through a Pyrex glass pipe 3. The benzene molecules introduced into the reaction tube 4 are heated at about 1000 deg.C, thermally decomposed thereby, and grown to form carbon on a base plate gradually. In this case, the grown carbon is made into a thin plate with a metallic glossiness, and the reaction is proceeded at the temperature lower than that of the formation of the graphite material. Therefore, a carbon material of hexagonal mesh surfaces, with a phisical properties suitable to attain the purpose, a disarrayed layer structure, and a selective orientation property is acquired. Such a carbon material is used as the main component. |
