PURPOSE:To allow a solar energy collector to automatically follow the move ment of the sun, by providing a flange on the intermediate part of a cylindrical body and arranging a pair of optical sensors on the upper surface of said flange. CONSTITUTION:A flange 6 having a window 5 of which the size is same to that of the window 3 of a flange 2 is provided on the intermediate part of a cylindrical body 1. Optical sensors X1-X4 are provided on said flange 6 and an optical sensor Xc is provided on the lower end part of the cylindrical body 1. By this mechanism, the indirect light incident on the optical sensor Xc can be made almost equal to the indirect light incident on the optical sensors X1-X4. By this method, the incident direction of the sunlight and the shift of a sunlight direction sensor can be numerically calculated only from the electrical output signals of the optical sensors according to a predetermined formula. Therefore, a solar energy collector having said direction sensor mounted thereon can be turned toward the sun rapidly and accurately. |
