The hinge 1 has an outer frame hinge portion 11 for fastening to the outer frame 2, rotatably connected by a pivot pin to a casement frame hinge portion 10 for fastening to the casement frame 3. The hinge 1 allows the adjustment, perpendicular to the hinge axis, of the casement frame 3 with respect to the fixed outer frame 2. A projecting web 12 on the casement frame hinge portion is inserted through an opening in the casement frame 30, the web 12 having an insert slot at one end into which the insert portion of an adjusting screw 4 is entered. The insert portion of the adjusting screw may be a cylindrical region bounded by two flanges or may be a single flange, and respectively the insert slot in the web may be a single slot or a forked end provided with two slots. A threaded section of the adjusting screw is rotatably mounted and screwed into the casement rebate plate 33 fastened to the casement frame rebate 32. Rotation of the adjusting screw 4 causes the casement frame 3 to move relative to the angular web 12 of the casement frame hinge portion 10.
