1319125 Slipping couplings MATSUSHITA ELECTRIC INDUSTRIAL CO Ltd 8 Sept 1970 [10 Sept 1969 27 Jan 1970] 42996/70 Heading F2U A slipping coupling comprises a flexible member 16, 42 extending (e.g. helically by over 360 degrees) round the outer surface of a drum 15, 41 one end of the member being held stationary (e.g. permanently at 19 or by a spring arm 48a engaging a stop) relative to a plate 17, 43 to which the other end is attached by a spring (e.g. at 21 or by an arm 49a of a coil spring 46, 46a), rotation being transmitted between the drum and the plate. The coupling may be bi-directional, Figs. 5 and 9, and may either transmit different torques in different directions, Fig. 9, or the same torque when arms 48a, 49a are equal. The drum 15, 41 may be integral with a belt pulley 39. The plate 17, 43 may be fixed on a shaft 36 having a friction drive (e.g. bi-directional from rubber tyred wheels 33, 34). |
