<p>PURPOSE: To provide a motor-driven brake to eliminate a need for air bleed. CONSTITUTION: An outer rotor 14 is fixed to the tip of an axle 10. An inner rotor 16 is axially movably attached to a spline part 19 formed in the vicinity of the tip of an axle, 10. An ultrasonic motor 20 is arranged at the outer side of the inner rotor 16, and a ball lump mechanism (can mechanism) 40 is arranged between the rotor ring 24 of the ultrasonic motor 20 and an outer rotor 14. A caliper 50 in a U-shape in cross section arranged astride the outer peripheral edges of the rotors 14 and 16 is axially movably supported at a support fixed at a car body. Friction pads 56 and 58 are arranged on the inner surface facing the caliper 50. During braking, the ultrasonic motor 20 is driven and the rotor ring 24 is rotated, and the rotors 14 and 16 are brought into pressure contact with friction pads 56 and 58.</p> |
