MASS PRODUCTION OF FOREIGN PROTEIN USING GENE FRAGMENT WITH PROMOTER ACTIVITY AND CYANOPHYCEAE

摘要

PURPOSE: To obtain the subject gene fragment useful for the mass production of a foreign protein such as chloramphenicol acetyltransferase. CONSTITUTION: This gene fragment consisting of 262 bases is obtained by breaking the Chromasomal DNA of Anacystis nidulans R2 with Sau3AI as a restriction enzyme. This fragment can further be broken into two subfragments consisting of about 100 bases and about 160 bases, respectively, with restriction enzyme AccII, but not with restriction enzyme BamHI, KpnI, NaeI or NotI. The gene fragment has promoter activity, having a base sequence of e.g. the formula.
