PURPOSE: To provide a one-way clutch for a starter capable of carrying out certain torque transmission. CONSTITUTION: A wedge type cam chamber 24a to store a roller 26 is formed on an inner peripheral surface of a clutch outer 24, and an engagement recessed part 25a to engage with the roller 26 at the time of transmitting torque is formed on an outer peripheral surface of a clutch inner 25. Hereby, supposing that depth of the engagement recessed part 25a is (h), a radius of the roller 26 is R and an angle formed by a straight line A and a straight line B is θon the assumption that the straight line connecting the center O1 of the clutch inner 25 and the center O2 of the roller 26 is A and the straight line connecting the center O2 of the roller 26 and a torque working point on the side of the clutch inner 25 is B, the depth (h) of the engagement recessed part 25a is decided so as to satisfy a condition of h>=R(1-cosθ). |
