PURPOSE: To uniformize the coating surface shape of an ink receiving layer to prevent image irregularity, in ink jet recording paper wherein the ink receiving layer containing synthetic non-crystalline silica is provided on a support, by further adding a specific amt. of dialkyl sulfosuccinate to the ink receiving layer. CONSTITUTION: Ink jet recording paper used in ink jet recording bonding ink liquid droplets to a sheet to record a character is obtained by providing an ink receiving layer containing an aq. binder or the like on a support. Dialkyl sulfosuccinate is further added to the ink receiving layer in an amt. of 0.1-10% by wt. of the total solid of the ink receiving layer. In the case of two or more ink receiving layers, it is desirable to add synthetic non-crystalline silica with a number average particle size of 6-15μm to the uppermost ink receiving layer and synthetic non-crystalline silica with a number average particle size of l-5μm is added to the other ink receiving layer. |
