PURPOSE: To obtain the new subject cephem compound having potent bactericidal activities against a wide range of Gram negative and Gram positive bacteria and especially to a staphylococcus, a methicillin resistant staphylococcus, etc. CONSTITUTION: This new cephem compound is a compound of formula I [R<1> is an amino group which may be substituted; R<2> is H or a group binding through a C atom; one of A, B is -CH=, and another is -NR<3> - (R<3> is a hydrocarbon residue which may be substituted); Z is N or methine] or its salt. For example, 7β-[(5-amino-1,2,4-thiadiazol-3-yl)-2(Z)-methoxyiminoacetoamide]-3-[(E)- 2-(1- methylimidazo[1,2-b]pyridazinium-6-yl)vinyl]-3-cephem-4 carboxylate. The compound of the formula I is obtained e.g. by reacting the compound of formula II with the compound of formula III and removing a protecting group as necessary. |
