PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of missing dots by applying static pressure to ink housed in an ink sump from a steady pressure source and applying a high level voltage signal to the electric viscous fluid valve COMPOSED of a pair of opposed electrodes provided in the vicinity of a nozzle to set the valve to a standby state. CONSTITUTION: In such a state that static pressure necessary for emitting ink droplets from nozzles 14A is applied to an ink sump 5 from a steady pressure source 12, a high level voltage signal is applied to all of electric viscous fluid valves 11 to confirm that the valves 11 become a standby state stopping the emission of ink droplets from the respective nozzles. Next, a voltage signal becoming a low level at a time of an emitting command is applied to the electric viscous fluid valve 11 selected by a recording signal to investigate the emitting characteristics of ink droplets. Whereupon, it is cleared that a sharp dot row can be recorded without generating abnormality such as missing dots within the frequency range from several kHz to 10kHz of a voltage signal. Further, an ink jet recording head simple in constitution and excellent in image (printing) capacity can be advantageously obtained from an economical aspect. |
