PURPOSE: To make it possible for a device to accommodate itself quickly and easily to change in measurements of packaged objects and packaging bags and achieve efficiency in the packing operation dealing with objects of various dimensions. CONSTITUTION: This device has a bag-opening mechanism 18 which forcibly holds a gusseted bag 12 in a form having the opening open as specified, an inserting mechanism 22 which inserts a product 20 into the gusseted bag 12 having the opening thus open, and an opened end-shaping mechanism 24 which puts into a flat shape the opened end 12a of the gusseted bag 12 now containing the inserted product 20. There are provided furthermore an opening-folding mechanism 28 which folds back the opened end 12a to shape it into a folded opening part 26 and a movable body part 32 by which the opened end-shaping mechanism 24 and the opening-folding mechanism 28 can integrally be lifted and lowered relative to a conveyor 16.
