PURPOSE: To provide a metal filter used at high temperatures with high reliability which is free from such troubles as breakage, clogging, etc., even when used in a coal gasification plant and a pressure fluidized bed boiler plant. CONSTITUTION: This metal filter is equipped with a filter part 101 which collects dust by separating it from gas to be treated in a state in which the gas containing dust passes between front and back surfaces. The filter part 101 is composed of a hot isotropic pressure sintered body which is obtained through a molding treatment process including hot isotropic pressure sintering treatment in which the sintered body of a metal powder is heated and which is conducted under hydrostatic pressure and has numbers of holes penetrating between the front and back surfaces, porosity of 6-50%, and a pore diameter of 500μm or less.
