PURPOSE: To obtain a transparent styrene resin having low temperature impact resistance by incorporating a terpene resin and a thermoplastic elastomer terminated at one or each end by a styrene block into a rubber-modified styrene resin comprising specific components. CONSTITUTION: A rubber-modified styrene resin (C) is produced which comprises a matrix (A) comprising a copolymer obtained from 45-60wt.% styrene, 5-15wt.% monomeric ester of a 2-4C saturated alcohol with (meth)acrylic acid, and 25-50wt.% methyl methacrylate and 8-15wt.% dispersed phase (B) comprising rubber particles consisting of a styrene/butadiene block copolymer and having a particle diameter of 0.3-3μm. 98-93 pts.wt. composition comprising 100 pts.wt. resin (C) and 3-30 pts.wt. terpene resin is compounded with 2-7 pts.wt. thermoplastic elastomer (D) terminated by a styrene block preferably at each end to obtain a styrene resin. The ingredient (D) is especially preferably a partially hydrogenated elastomer. A transparent container for, e.g. a frozen food can be produced from a thermoformed sheet of the styrene resin.
