PURPOSE: To easily manufacture the small article of a sound absorbing component having a light weight and heat resistance by integrally laminating a sound absorbing member made of a papermaking fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin molding having a specific void ratio at least at the part of a base material made of resin molding which may contain reinforcing fiber. CONSTITUTION: An expanded fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin sheet 5 so expanded as to set the void ratio to 50vol.% or more and desired void ratio or more as at least a sound absorbing material or preferably 80vol.% or more is supplied between upper and lower molds of an open state while holding a preheating state. Thereafter, the movable mold is lowered and clamped until the void ratio of a supplied sheet reaches a predetermined void ratio of 50vol.% or more of the supplied sheet to shape it to a desired shape of the sound absorbing member 2, and an extra end material is cut out. Such a sound absorbing member is integrally laminated with the part of the base material made of resin molding which may contain reinforcing fiber as it is.
