摘要 PURPOSE: To carry out isomerization of an aromatic halide and lessen the loss by employing an acid type zeolite catalyst which is treated with boric acid trialkyl ester. CONSTITUTION: This acid type zeolite catalyst is produced by immersing and/or kneading an acid type zeolite with trialkyl borate. An aromatic halide is isomerized by bringing into contact with the acid type zeolite catalyst. As the acid type zeolite, any zeolite may be used, and a mordenite type zeolite, β-type zeolite, pentacyl-type zeolite, etc., are preferable. In the case of isomerization of dichlorotoluene, for example, a mordenite type zeolite is especially preferable. Not only a side reaction is suppressed to lessen the loss, but also selectively of the isomerization reaction is improved by employing the catalyst. Further, it is preferable that the trialkyl group of borate in the acid type zeolite is trimethyl and also rhenium is contained.
