PURPOSE: To obtain the subject non-discolored ester by using an organic solvent and an aromatic compound having specific structure, with suppressed byproduct formation and dispensing with any complicated purification process after the reaction. CONSTITUTION: In the presence of (A) an organic solvent (pref. at least one kind selected from benzene, toluene and xylenes) and (B) an aromatic compound having in the molecule sulfonic acid group, OH group and alkyl group (e.g. cresolsulfonic acid), (C) (meth)acrylic acid is reacted with (D) a t-alcohol (e.g. 1-adamanthanol). It is preferable that the reaction be carried out at a weight ratio B/D of (0.02-0.06) at 50-250 deg.C for 3-10h. |
