PURPOSE: To make both sector gears engage with each other at a correct phase, in a device which rotates a shift rod, operating a shift gear mechanism to control the normal rotation, reverse rotation and stoppage of a propeller for an outboard motor, via both these driving and driven sector gears to be engaged with each other. CONSTITUTION: From a state that a driving sector gear 83 and a driven sector gear 84 are made to come into contact with each of two stoppers 21 and 22 and positioned aright, the driving sector gear 83 is slightly rotated in an arrow (a) direction, engaging it with the driven sector gear 84. With this engagement, in time of maintenance or the like, supposing that an engagement between both these gears 83 and 84 is released, they can be reassembled at a correct phase. |
