PURPOSE: To produce a knitted fabric having excellent beautifulness and slight water resistance to be suitable as a swimming suit for a swimming race by performing a flattening process and a partially water-repellent process on at least one surface of a fabric using synthetic multifilament yarn. CONSTITUTION: A mixture composed of a fluorine-based water repellent, a crosslinking agent and a sizing agent is printed pattern-like on at least one surface of a cross-knitted tricot fabric of a half texture composed of polyester multifilament yarn and polyurethane elastic yarn in an area ratio of 40-80% by a screen printing method and heat-treated to perform a partially water repellent process, and the partially water-repellent processed face is subjected to a flattening process to obtain the objective fabric having 150-280g/m<2> fabric weight and >=80% elongation in respectively longitudinal and lateral directions. A swimming suit is fabricated by using the flattening processed face of the fabric as a right side of the suit to obtain a swimming suit excellently repelling outside water, ejecting water inside of the swimming suit to outside through a non-water repellent processed part and having slight water resistance. |
