A centrifugal pump having impeller 3, pump axle 2 and pump housing 1, where the pump axle and pump housing are connected to a motor 4. The pump housing 1 consists of a pot shaped front wall 5 and a pot shaped rear wall 6 with a space between them. The front wall 5 extends around the rear wall 6. The front and rear walls are interconnected in that a sealing O-ring 7 is placed between them, and in that a circumferential flange 5a on the front wall 5 is, by means of a circumferential clamping means, pressed onto a circumferential intermediate flange 10 fastened to or integral with the motor housing 4. At its peripheral edge, the rear wall 6 has a circumferential flange 6a which is fastened directly to the intermediate flange 10 of the motor housing 4 by means of at least one bracket piece 11 having a through hole. The bracket piece is fastened to the flange 6a of the rear wall 6 by means of a fastening means such as a bolt led through said hole, the protruding part 11a of the bracket 11 at the same time pressing against the intermediate flange 10. Hereby, it is attained that the rear wall may be made thinner without its connection with the intermediate flange being weakened. <IMAGE>
