The method of controlling feed water in an automatic washing machine includes 1st. step of setting the minimum water level, a feed water level and a limit time for feeding water, 2nd. step of detecting the feed water reaching to the minimum water level for preset limit time, 3rd. step of memorizing the feeding time when the feed water reaches the preset water level, 4th. step of processing the cycle of washing, draining and dehydrating when the feeding of water has been finished, 5th. step of resupplying water for rinsing for memorized time, 6th. step of extending the feeding time when the resupplied water has not reached one-step lower level w.r.t. the preset water level in the 1st. step, and 7th. step of finishing all the process of rinsing, draining and dehydrating when the resupplied water has reached one-step lower level.
