PURPOSE: To provide the controller for an on-vehicle generator in which the exhaust of exhaust gas by the operation of an engine can be suppressed as much as possible while efficiently charging a battery and purging a canister at the effective timing. CONSTITUTION: The controller for an on-vehicle generator comprises a first drive controller 28 for generating the generator 2 for charging a battery 3 when the storage amount of the battery 3 is reduced or abruptly decreased by starting the engine 14 of the generator 2 with the engine 14 as a drive source, and a second drive controller 29 for starting the engine 14 of the generator 2 to purge the canister 25 when the adsorbed amount of purging gas of the canister 25 provided in the fuel supply unit 24 of the engine 14 increases. The controllers 28, 9 operate the engine 14 in separate drive modes, and the load of the engine 14 at the time of operating by the controller 29 is lighter than that at the time of operating the engine 14 by the controller 28. |
