PURPOSE: To provide a polarographic urine analyzing method and a device therefor in which urine can be precisely analyzed without being affected by the dark current carried to a flow cell. CONSTITUTION: This urine analyzing device has an urine collecting vessel for collecting the urine excreted to a toilet bowl and a polarographic flow cell 34 for analyzing the urine sample. An urine detecting electrode 74 is arranged in the urine collecting vessel so as to detect the accumulation of urine by the change of conductivity of a fluid present in the electrode clearance. The voltage application to the urine detecting electrode 74 is controlled by a relay switch 214, and started together with the start of urine collection, but it is finished as soon as the accumulation of urine is detected so as to prevent the dark current from being carried to the flow cell 34.
