Rotary furnace for destroying waste by pyrolysis, for disposal of urban, industrial, hospital and agricultural waste

The furnace has a series of fixed curved sections (12) on pillars (11). A rotary section (20) rests on the fixed sections through rollers (13). The rotary section has a series of heat exchangers (31) which are fed with hot gases. The gases are produced by the chemical decomposition of the waste materials after they have been raised to a sufficient temperature for a given period of time. The furnace is sealed from the outside air by injecting a neutral gas through joints at each end of the rotary section. The flow of waste to be treated is regulated by controlling the speed at which the rotary section turns. Each of the heat exchangers is made from groups of tubes in a circle (31) connected by lengthwise manifolds (32) to common inlets (33) and outlets (34).
