PURPOSE: To provide a video and audio reproducing device displaying picture or outputting audio by detecting a timing of vocal start/end or a vocal period by discriminating whether or not a difference between the audios of two channels is within a prescribed range at the time of reproducing KARAOKE. CONSTITUTION: As an example, a vocal period detection device 18 consisting of a subtraction circuit 19 and an integration circuit 20 is provided, the subtraction circuit 19 always takes an audio signal difference between both left and right channels and the integration circuit 20 converts the difference to a DC voltage. The device is constituted so that a window comparator 21 detects whether or not the DC value is within a certain range and determines that there is only accompaniment if the value is within the range and there is a vocal if it exceeds the range. |
