PURPOSE: To provide a nickel-hydrogen battery in which a satisfactory capacity can be taken out from an initial charge/discharge cycle, and in which the discharge capacity can be set large. CONSTITUTION: A nickel-hydrogen battery mainly comprises hydrogen storage alloy of specific composition, a hydrogen electrode comprising polytetrafluoroethylene mixed with hydrogen storage alloy grain is set as a negative electrode 2, and nickel oxide is used as a positive electrode 3. In this nickel-hydrogen battery, electrolyte comprising KOH and LiOH is contained in electrolyte, and the molar number of LiOH in the total molar number of the electrolyte is set to be 7.7% or more and 20% or less. |
