PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide single mode light waveguide fiber which has a light amplifier and is designed for a high data rate or a WDM system. SOLUTION: This light waveguide fiber has a composite core having a central area and at least a single annular area to surround this central area. This waveguide core is characterized in that a minimum refractive index of a central core area is smaller than a minimum refractive index of an adjacent annular area. Design of a profile is comparatively simple, and manufacture is easy, and it has a predetermined zero dispersion wave length, the dispersion size running over a target wave length range and flexibility when Dw is adjusted so as to generate a dispersive inclination. Dispersion of a polarization mode is reduced by simplicity of this profile. |
