PURPOSE: To prevent lowering of image reproducibility due to abnormality of a photoreceptor by forming plural latent image patterns on the photoreceptor by different writing methods to measure a potential difference of the plural latent image patterns. CONSTITUTION: A photoreceptor drum 11 is driven in rotation in the direction of an arrow P to be uniformly charged by a electrification charger 12. Subsequently, an image is written by image exposure of an exposure system 14 containing a mirror 13 to form an electrostatic latent image. The image forming apparatus comprises a potential sensor 20 as a photoreceptor abnormality detecting means for detecting the abnormality of the photoreceptor drum 11, a fan control device 25, an A/D converter 27, and a control part 28. An air blowing condition to the charger 12 is changed, and the photoreceptor drum 11 is charged by the charger 12. After that, plural latent image patterns are formed on the photoreceptor drum 11 by different writing methods. A potential difference of the plural latent image patterns is measured, and the abnormality of the photoreceptor drum 11 is detected from the potential difference by the photoreceptor abnormality detecting means. |
