PURPOSE: To report the intensity of an electric field or battery voltage when necessary by providing this portable communication equipment with a receiving electric field intensity detecting means, a power supply voltage detecting means and an informing means for generating an informing tone when an operation means is operated. CONSTITUTION: An electric field intensity detecting part 13 in a microprocessor 4 detects the receiving electric field intensity of a received signal by a signal outputted from a transmitting/receiving part 2. When the detected intensity is less than a previously determined value indicating the availability of communication, sends an out-of-range check signal to an out-of-range check tone control circuit 10. When a check switch 9 is depressed, the circuit 10 generates a check tone from a check speaker part 12. When the voltage of a battery 8 is less than previously determined voltage, a battery voltage detecting part 14 sends a battery voltage detection signal to a battery residual check tone control circuit 11. When the switch 9 is depressed, the circuit 11 generates a check tone different from the out-of-range check tone from the speaker part 12. |
