PURPOSE: To prevent malfunction in the operation of a plant by a method wherein respective indicating pictures are indicated in the order of height of indicating demands in an operating manipulation in accordance with the changing amount of process of the plant. CONSTITUTION: The changing amount of process in a plant is inputted (process input step 1), the changing amount of process is related previously to the indicating demand on the operating manipulation of respective indicating pictures (changing amount of process + picture indication demanding step 2), to operate the degree of indicating demand of respective indicating pictures (degree of indicating demand operating step 3) and select the group of indicating pictures (indicating picture selecting step 4). Then, the indicating picture, whose degree of indicating demand is maximum among the group of indicating pictures, is indicated automatically while respective indicating pictures are alloted into an indication selecting key in the order of height of the degree of indicating demand (indication selecting key allotment step). According to this method, malfunction in the operation of a plant can be prevented.
