PURPOSE: To provide a device and a method for image processing capable of quickly specifying a part of inconvenience and easily adjusting an image when inconvenience occurs in an outputted image processing result. CONSTITUTION: When an original 31 is provided with a background (texture) and the image information of the original 31 is read by an image reading part 32, a data processing part 38 generates a histogram to distinct the background from a really described content after applying every kind of image processing. The histogram is used in automatic density conversion processing to print the content described on the original 31 more clearly, and also, it is converted to the image information so as to confirm the shape of the histogram by an operator, and stored in image memory 33b. When it is recognized that the inconvenience occurs in the automatic density conversion processing from a print result printed by a printer 34, image output from the image memory 33b is selected by a selector 33a corresponding to the instruction of the operator, and the shape of the histogram is printed on the printer 34. |
