PURPOSE: To provide an explanatory document generating device and method capable of generating an explanatory document to be intuitively understood by a user. CONSTITUTION: This explanatory document generating device is provided with a knowledge base 4 for storing a name expressing a concept, the name of a concept upper or lower than the concept concerned and plural attributes expressing features included in the concepts, a similar concept searching means 1 which searches the knowledge base 4 and acquires a similar concept close to a concept to be explained, an attribute concept searching means 2 for searching a concept having a sense feature not included in the similar concept and a document generating means 3 for generating an explanatory document by combining the features of a concept searched by the means 1, 2. |
