PURPOSE: To invalidate the unauthorized duplicated software by inhibiting all the operations of various functions in an inverter if the corresponding bit states of a nonvolatile read only memory cell and a rewritable nonvolatile memory cell do not coincide. CONSTITUTION: When a memory 2 (writable nonvolatile memory cell) is in an initial state, the bit corresponding to the ROM to be checked in a memory 1 [ROM (nonvolatile read only memory cell)] is turned on, and stored in the memory 2. If the ROM of the specific software is unauthorizedly duplicated and loaded in an apparatus in which a ROM for a standard software is mounted so far, the bit on state become mismatch, and the various programs of an inverter function are not executed. The function is realized as the inverter only when the on state of the specific bit in the memory 2 coincides with the content of the mounted ROM. |
