<p>An electrotransport system (10) includes a reusable controller (12) having a power source (20) and a separable disposable drug-containing unit (30) which contain both a donor electrode (32) and a counter electrode (34). A coupling means (26, 28, 36, 38) physically and electrically connects together the controller (12) and the drug unit (30) such that the controller (12) provides electrical current to the drug unit (30) for electrotransport delivery of the drug to a body surface (e.g., the skin) of a patient. The coupling means (26, 28, 36, 38) ensures correct polarity connection of the donor and counter electrodes (32, 34) to the outputs of the controller (12).</p> |
