The window pane (1) is fitted in a flexible fabric sheet (2). Both the edge of the window pane and window aperture are fitted with profiled strips (4,5). The two profiled strips have interlocking profiles (8,9) to hold the pane in the sheet. The outer sides of the strips have grooves (20,21) in which the arms (19) of clamping elements (16) fit. The clamping elements tension the two profiled strips together. Pref. the clamping elements are spaced from each other and fitted to a plastics or fabric band.
