A composition for producing a solid material is described, particularly materials used for producing sanitary ware, characterised in that it contains a casting polymeric resin and an inert filler which does not react with the substances composing said polymeric resin. The filler comprises a porous filler material, particularly made up of two fillers of different average particle diameters, and one insulating filler made of hollow glass microspheres, in a weight content substantially lower than the weight content of the porous filler material. The amount and type of porous filler material, and the amount of hollow microspheres present in said material are sufficient to provide the material with a smooth and dense surface state and mechanical strength, as well as enhanced heat and sound insulation properties, compared to similar materials containing a single filler material and/or not containing microspheres. |
