Agent for rapidly elevating the blood sugar levels in diabetics, using a glucose-contg. material, esp. in tablet, capsule, pastille or dragee form, comprises; (a) 50-60 wt.% of glucose syrup; (b) 20-30 wt.% of dextrose; (c) 15-25 wt.% of sugar; (d) 2.5-3.5 wt.% of gelatine; (e) 0.75-1 wt.% of an acidifying agent; and (f) colours, taste enhancers and a releasing agent. The amt. of carbohydrate in the material is calculated on a fixed part of a bread unit.
