The arrangement has two associated rotary bodies (3,4). One of these is connected to the machine shaft (2). The other forms a swinging mass which is mounted on the machine shaft so as to rotate freely. The arrangement also has an electromagnetic mechanism (6,8) by means of which the two rotating bodies (3,4) are coupled together without contact. The arrangement also has at least one device (10,11) to control the electromagnetic mechanism (6,8). The electromagnetic mechanism (6,8) may be formed by several coils (5) arranged on pole bodies. The coils are arranged uniformly around the circumference of one of the rotating bodies (3,4). The coils are in connection with the control device. The pole surfaces of the pole bodies are directed towards at least one surface of the other rotating body.
