Two-dimensional jet engine outlet control system

The control system comprises articulated convergent (1) and divergent (2) shutters mounted on the outlet of the engine. The convergent shutters are controlled by power cylinders. The divergent shutters have arms (23) between them. A pivot (24) is situated on a fixed section of the outlet to determine the positions of the divergent shutters for each position of the convergent ones. The pivots can be moved in curved slots (101) by independent control systems. The jet engine has additional shutters (4,5) in front of the exhaust control convergent and divergent shutters to provide a reverse thrust. Outer cold shutters (3), situated outside the convergent/divergent shutters, pivot about the axes of the arms.
