The first pipe end (1) passes through a flange or vessel wall (2), to which it is sealed. The distance (D) between the grooves in the pipe accommodating the sealing and locking rings (4, 6) matches the thickness of the flange or wall (2). The first end matches the second pipe end (8). The first end can taper, to accommodate a flexible hose forming the second pipe. Alternatively it can be threaded, the second pipe end screwing onto it, or it can have two annular grooves, to accommodate a plug in type end of the second pipe.
