Production method using a cold rolling process and a ring rolling machine in which the first step is the production of a preform (2). The preform is introduced into a matrix (7) having the negative form of the gear tooth formation. The preform is cold rolled with the matrix in a machine with a profile roller (17) and a pin roller (16). The gear ring (1) is separated from the matrix at the end of the rolling sequence.
